BBC NEWS | UK | Councils ban use of Latin terms

A number of local councils in Britain have banned their staff from using Latin words, because they say they might confuse people."

  1. Wendover Parish Council is running a competition for a new Motto, due to end on 25th November. I have two submissions (a) PRO VOBIS MERITUM EST, and (b) SERVIRE VOS PROPRIE. BUt neither of these seem to capture the subtlety of my English original, which is SERVE YOUR RIGHT.
    Any helpful suggestions, before 25th, would be welcome.
