Languages holding steady says the Languages Company
The Languages Company claims that the decrease in numbers entering GCSE languages this year is reflective of the decline in numbers entering GCSE overall.

Mixed fortunes for GCSE languages
French entries down 6.6%. German down 4.2%. No change in Spanish, but 4.4% increase in other modern languages.

A-levels: Spanish and community langs up. French and German down
There were falls in entries for French, by 3.7%, and German, by 7.7%, but a rise in those sitting Spanish and community languages.
